Work out what your extra hours are worth, at the overtime rates set by Kenya’s wage orders.
How overtime is calculated
Your hourly rate is your monthly basic salary × 12 ÷ 52 weeks ÷ normal weekly hours. Under the Regulation of Wages (General) Order, normal hours are 52 a week (60 for night workers), overtime on normal working days is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate, and work on a rest day or public holiday at 2 times. Your contract or CBA may set fewer hours or better rates; enter your own weekly hours if so. Overtime pay is taxable.
