TSC Secretary/CEO Vacancy 2026 (TSC/CS/001/2026)

The Teachers Service Commission has declared the post of Secretary/Chief Executive Officer vacant and is inviting applications under vacancy number TSC/CS/001/2026, dated 29 September 2026. The Secretary heads the TSC Secretariat, is the Commission’s accounting officer and custodian of its records, and carries out the Commission’s decisions.
Minimum qualifications (section 16(2), TSC Act, Cap 212)
- Kenyan citizen;
- a degree in education from a university recognised in Kenya;
- at least ten years’ experience in education, administration and management, public administration, human resource or financial management; and
- meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

- by email, as a PDF attachment to chairperson2026@tsc.go.ke; or
- by hand, in a sealed envelope marked “Application for the post of Secretary/Chief Executive Officer”, delivered to the office of the Commission Chairman, TSC House, 3rd Floor, Tower Wing, Kilimanjaro Road, Upper Hill, Nairobi.
Applications must arrive by Friday, 30 October 2026, 5 pm EAT. Include clearance certificates from KRA, HELB, EACC, the DCI and a recognised credit reference bureau. TSC will publish the names of all applicants and the interview schedule in the newspapers and on tsc.go.ke. Canvassing leads to automatic disqualification.

Do I need to be a teacher to apply?
The Act requires a degree in education and ten years’ experience in education, administration and management, public administration, human resource or financial management, so the experience need not be classroom teaching.
