KRA Jobs in Kenya: Kenya Revenue Authority Vacancies and How to Apply

The current status of Kenya Revenue Authority recruitment, checked on the KRA careers page, and how to apply through KRA's e-recruitment system.

Open rounds

There is no open round in this category that we could verify on the official source today. We check daily, so the next advert will appear here.

Is KRA hiring right now?

When we checked kra.go.ke/careers on 17 October 2026, its “Open Career Opportunities” table was empty, so there was no KRA round to list. KRA’s most recent public adverts on the Government Advertising Agency were these:

  • March 2026: manager posts, including Digital Communication & Production, Data & Big Data Operations, Continuous Audit and Enterprise Database Administration. Applications closed on 23 March 2026, and the Deputy Commissioner adverts closed on 24 March 2026.
  • July–August 2026: four posts at the KRA Staff Pension Scheme, closing on 10 August 2026.

We check the careers page every day. As soon as KRA opens a new advert, it will appear above with its own page, deadline and application link.

About working at KRA

The Kenya Revenue Authority is the government agency that collects national taxes and customs duties. It was established in 1995 under the Kenya Revenue Authority Act. KRA says it employs more than 9,000 staff across the country, in departments covering domestic taxes, customs and border control, intelligence and investigations, legal services, ICT and enterprise modernisation, finance and shared services. Because KRA is a state agency with its own board, it recruits directly rather than through the Public Service Commission.

KRA also runs internship and attachment programmes. These are advertised separately on the same careers page when intakes open.

How the KRA e-recruitment system works

KRA adverts direct applicants to the careers page for the full job descriptions and to an online e-recruitment system for applications. Paper and emailed CVs are not accepted. KRA’s published application guidelines describe these steps:

  1. Register on the e-recruitment system and confirm your email. KRA notes that the confirmation email can be delayed, and asks applicants to refresh their inbox before contacting support.
  2. In the Applicant Cockpit, open “Employment Opportunities”, then under “Job Search” click “Start” to see all vacancies.
  3. Open a job posting to read its details, then click “Apply” and complete each step of the application.
  4. Submit before the closing date and time. Recent KRA adverts closed at 23:59 on the closing date.

Requirements vary by post, but KRA job descriptions typically ask for a relevant degree, professional certification where applicable (for example CPA, CISA or a cloud certification for technical roles), several years of relevant experience, and compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution. Successful candidates must provide Chapter Six clearances (KRA tax compliance, HELB, EACC, a Certificate of Good Conduct from the DCI and a credit reference bureau report).

KRA never charges recruitment fees

KRA states on its careers page that it does not charge any fee at any stage of recruitment, whether at application, shortlisting, interview or offer. Its adverts add that canvassing or falsifying qualifications leads to automatic disqualification, and that presenting fake certificates is a criminal offence. KRA job scams are common because the jobs are well paid. Any message offering a KRA job for a “processing fee” or through a personal contact is fake.

KRA encourages applications from people with disabilities, marginalised groups and minorities, in line with its equal opportunity policy.
