This role focuses on overseeing the technical aspects of mechanical systems for Tatu City’s construction projects. Key Responsibilities

Shop Drawing & Submittal Management

  • Lead technical reviews of mechanical shop drawings, including HVAC plant room layouts, ductwork, piping schematics, riser diagrams, fire protection layouts, and plumbing/drainage details.
  • Verify shop drawings against design drawings (P&IDs, layouts) and specifications to ensure compliance with design intent, equipment schedules, codes, and standards.
  • Manage the review and approval process for mechanical material submittals, including datasheets for chillers, AHUs, pumps, fans, pipes, valves, and insulation.
  • Coordinate mechanical shop drawings with structural (e.g., builder’s work, penetrations) and architectural (e.g., ceiling voids, plant room access) submissions to resolve interface clashes proactively.

Technical Coordination & Information Control

  • Oversee the Request for Information (RFI) process for mechanical matters, ensuring clarity, coordinating with design consultants, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between MEP design consultants and the contractor’s technical team.
  • Review contractor-proposed Method Statements and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for critical activities like heavy plant lifts, system flushing, and pressure testing.
  • Verify contractor-submitted mechanical calculations (e.g., pump head, static pressure, pipe sizing) for design compliance.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain an organized register of mechanical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, and material submittals.
  • Ensure the site team uses the latest, fully coordinated, and approved-for-construction mechanical documents.
  • Assist in compiling accurate as-built drawings and records, reflecting all mechanical changes and deviations.
