Job Overview
To operate and maintain the Winder Machine efficiently to ensure smooth winding of PP tapes from bobbins into spools for weaving, maintaining quality, speed, and minimal waste in line with company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Machine Operation:
- Start, monitor, and operate the winder machine during the production shift.
- Adjust winding tension, speed, and traverse settings as required.
- Ensure even and tight winding of PP tapes onto spools/bobbins.
Material Handling:
- Receive PP tapes from the Extruder Section and load them correctly into the winding machine.
- Replace empty tubes/spools and ensure proper labelling for traceability.
Quality Control:
- Inspect wound bobbins for uniform tension, tape width, and cleanliness.
- Identify and correct defects such as loose winding, tape overlaps, or breaks.
- Segregate rejected or defective materials for reprocessing.
Maintenance & Safety:
- Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance of winding machines.
- Immediately report any machine malfunction or unusual sound to maintenance or the shift in-charge.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear PPE at all times.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Record daily production output, machine downtime, and rejected spools.
- Submit shift handover reports to the supervisor.
Coordination & Teamwork:
- Work closely with Extruder and Weaving Sections to ensure smooth production flow.
- Support other operators during shift transitions to minimize downtime.
Key Qualification
- Technical training in production or mechanical operations preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience operating a PP Woven Winder Machine or similar plastic winding equipment.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Understanding of winding parameters and tension control.
- Ability to identify defects and maintain quality standards.
