The Role
Zeno is seeking a meticulous and technically minded Vehicle Quality Assurance Manager to lead all aspects of vehicle quality and assurance at our Kenya assembly facility. This role owns final vehicle sign-off — from bring-up and validation to post-service inspections — ensuring every motorcycle meets Zeno’s performance, reliability, and safety standards. You will lead Incoming Quality Control (IQC) of all received components, coordinate with the India team to identify and resolve manufacturing and design quality issues, and drive continuous improvement in product quality. A strong design engineering mindset and sharp attention to detail are critical to success in this role.
What You’ll Do:
- Vehicle Sign-Off Ownership – Own final quality approval and sign-off for every motorcycle assembled or serviced before delivery to customers.
- Incoming Quality Control (IQC) – Manage inspection and testing of all incoming shipments, components, and assemblies to ensure compliance with Zeno standards.
- Root Cause Analysis & Feedback – Lead structured problem-solving for identified defects and work cross-functionally with the India team to resolve quality and design issues.
- Quality Systems Implementation – Establish and maintain robust QA/QC systems including checklists, inspection tools, and traceability procedures.
- Process Audits – Conduct regular process and product audits to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement at the assembly line.
- Training & Standards – Train technicians and engineers on quality protocols, measurement standards, and defect prevention methods.
- Post-Service Quality Validation – Manage feedback loop from field and service operations to identify recurring issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Data & Reporting – Track, analyze, and report key quality KPIs to the Head of Product driving continuous improvement and transparency.
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or vehicle validation within automotive, EV, or two-wheeler manufacturing in East Africa.
- Strong design and engineering understanding — able to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and failure modes.
- Proven experience with IQC, process audits, and root cause analysis
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-border manufacturing and engineering teams.
- Deep attention to detail with a rigorous approach to testing, inspection, and documentation.
- Ability to balance analytical rigor with practical problem-solving on the factory floor.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and quality data reporting systems.
