Tired of hitting Cursor’s free limits mid-project? There’s a fresh, legit way to extend your Pro trial without paying upfront, perfect for testing AI-powered coding at full speed.
Cursor recently tweaked its trial system, closing the loophole that we were exploiting in the old method of creating unlimited pro trial accounts. But before you learn about the new method, I would like to bring your attention to this:
The reason Cursor cracks our new methods so fast is simple: when a 7-day trial ends, their system attempts to bill the connected card. If it hits a dead end (declined, no card, or recycled details), that pattern flags the entire batch.
When they see dozens of accounts following the same “fail-to-bill” signature, they patch the loophole instantly. Clean exits = slower detection = longer runway for the rest of us.
Therefore, once you deplete your free trial on any account, immediately go back to Cursor, cancel the subscription, and delete the account in the settings page within the Cursor dashboard.
Step 1: Sign out of your Cursor IDE.
Step 2: Go to the browser where you created your cursor account and do as stated above.
Step 3: Clear your browser history and cookies.
Step 4: Uninstall the Cursor IDE from your pc and begin a fresh installation. All the steps on how to set up Cursor on windows pc unlimited times are detailed in this article.
Once you have set up the cursor application on your pc per the guidance in the highlighted article above, proceed to download the extension below:
Download Cursor Trail Extension.
Download the zipfile.
Step 5: Open your Chrome browser, and go to settings. Within the settings page sidebar menu, locate extensions and click on it. You should be able to see the page shown below. Toggle the developer mode and ensure that it is on by default.
Click on load unpacked and search for the cursortrail zipfile you just downloaded from GitHub in step 4 above. Extract it somewhere on your pc and select the extracted folder. Within seconds, you should be able to see the cursor trail extension added to your list of extensions.
Proceed to pin the extension for ease of access.
Install Urban VPN Extension. Visit: Urban VPN Proxy. Click “Add to Chrome”. Set the location to the United States.
When done, go back to the cursor tab where you just finished creating your account, under pro+, click on start 7-day free trial.
Click on the card option, then click on the pinned extension, autofill. The extension will autofill all the details for you, and you will be good to go.
