Job Description
Technicians support technical operations across engineering, marine, electrical, mechanical, civil works, and related departments. They assist engineers by carrying out technical tasks that ensure proper installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery, systems, and infrastructure.

Key functions include conducting technical inspections, diagnosing problems in mechanical or electrical systems, performing routine and corrective maintenance, calibrating equipment, interpreting technical drawings, supporting project implementation, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Technicians also maintain detailed maintenance logs and participate in departmental reporting.
This position requires practical technical competence, accuracy in execution, and the ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure operational environments common in port settings. Technicians directly contribute to reliable port operations and maintenance of essential equipment and systems.

Terms and Conditions of Service
The appointment will be on contract for an initial one (1) year on-the-job training and thereafter appointment on Permanent and Pensionable terms subject to successful completion of the one (1) year on-the-job training.
Documents to be submitted by the Applicants
Application letter should be accompanied by a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), a daytime phone contact, email address, email and telephone contacts of three (3) referees, Certified copies of Relevant Academic Certificates by either the issuing institution or a Notary and copy of the National ID.
Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit the following clearance certificates as per the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010:
- Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
- Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
- Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
- Clearance from the Ethics & Anti-corruption Authority (EACC)
- Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
- The clearance certificates should be valid and current.
The self-declaration Form from EACC should indicate the respective position that is being applied for.Only shortlisted and successful candidates shall be contacted. Shortlisted candidates shall be required to provide original National Identity Card, Academic and Professional Certificates during the interview.
