Job Purpose
- An officer at this level will be responsible to the Head of Mental Health Department in provision of Clinical Psychology services in the Hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Formulating and reviewing counselling policies, strategies, guidelines and standards; coordinating guidance and counselling services;
- Initiating and developing counselling and guidance programmes;
- Designing strategies for psychological interventions;
- Monitoring implementation and evaluation of guidance and counselling projects and programmes;
- Facilitating sessions, seminars and workshop on guidance and counselling;
- Spearheading research and disseminating findings for implementations; preparing reports;
- Planning and budgeting for guiding and counselling activities;
- Building capacity and managing performance;
- Oversee preparation of unit performance contracts work plans;
- Prepare budgets and procurement plan;
- Initiating quality improvement initiatives; and
- Monitoring staff performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Masters in Clinical Psychology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Bachelors in Clinical Psychology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Higher Diploma in counselling psychology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Certificate of Registration by a relevant professional body;
- Leadership/ Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Evidence of proficiency and knowledge in computer applications; and
- A minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience and at least three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
