This role is not for general agronomists.
We are looking for a specialist; someone who understands degeneration cycles, is familiar with certified seed potato classes, and can confidently guide farmers, multipliers, and stakeholders through proper seed selection, handling, and production protocols.
The Seed Potato Officer will play a pivotal role in strengthening Kenya’s seed potato ecosystem through:
- Effective coordination of seed producers and multipliers
- Ensuring quality assurance and compliance across the seed value chain
- Enhancing availability of clean, certified planting materials
- Supporting farmers with practical, field-tested technical guidance
- Driving improved productivity through superior seed system management
