Role Description

• This is a full-time, on-site Restaurant Waitress role based in Mombasa County, Kenya.
• The Restaurant Waitress will welcome guests, present menus, take food and beverage orders, and provide attentive table service throughout the dining experience.
• Responsibilities include serving dishes and drinks, explaining menu items and specials, handling guest questions or concerns, and ensuring that tables and service areas remain clean and well-organized. The role also involves coordinating with the kitchen and bar teams, processing payments accurately, and supporting a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that reflects the restaurant’s beachfront setting.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills, with a friendly and professional approach to guests.
• Experience or familiarity with food & beverage and food service operations, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Clear verbal communication skills to explain menu items, take accurate orders, and liaise with kitchen staff.
• Basic understanding of cooking or food preparation concepts is an advantage for describing dishes and specials.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, carry trays safely, and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Previous experience in coastal or high-volume restaurants is a plus.
• Fluency in English required; knowledge of Swahili or other languages is an asset.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in an informal yet fast-paced environment.
