Our client is an international construction and engineering company with a strong presence in Kenya and across East Africa. The firm is recognized for delivering high-quality infrastructure and building projects through innovative design, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and sustainability.
They are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor Engineer to support cost management, project planning, and contract administration across various construction projects in Kenya. The successful candidate will ensure project budgets are accurately developed, monitored, and aligned with design and implementation objectives while maintaining compliance with company standards and client requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQ) for construction projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess material, labour, and time requirements.
- Manage and monitor project costs throughout all stages of the construction process.
- Evaluate tender documents, contracts, and procurement requirements.
- Assist in preparing tender documents, contract agreements, and progress claims.
- Conduct site visits to verify quantities, materials, and completed work.
- Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure cost efficiency and quality control.
- Prepare periodic cost and financial reports for management and clients.
- Identify and manage potential risks related to costs, contracts, or materials.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal, safety, and contractual standards

Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of proven experience in construction cost estimation and quantity surveying.
- Professional certifications and registrations (e.g., RICS, IQSK, BORAQS,) are required
- Strong knowledge of project budgeting, tendering, and contract management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, QS CAD).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
