This is a full-time, on-site role for a Production Supervisor based in Limuru County, Kenya.The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the cable manufacturing lines, ensuring efficient production, product quality, and compliance with safety and technical standards. This role involves managing production teams, coordinating raw material usage and optimizing machine performance to meet customer and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities across all machine lines.
- Execute production schedules as per the production plan and ensure timely completion of customer orders.
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure cables meet specified standards (e.g., IEC, KEBS, BS).Work closely with the Quality Control team to address defects or deviations immediately.
- Track and control raw material usage to minimize waste and ensure optimal utilization.
- Ensure all machinery are in proper working condition.
- Report breakdowns promptly and coordinate preventive maintenance with the maintenance department.
- Manage, train, and motivate operators, helpers, and line leaders to achieve production and quality targets.
- Enforce discipline, safety, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, scrap, and material consumption.
- Submit daily and weekly production reports to management.
- Enforce safety regulations, PPE use, and housekeeping standards across the production floor.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings regularly.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, waste reduction, and efficiency optimization projects.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Supervisory Skills and Production Management
- Experience in developing and managing Production Schedules and Production Planning
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting is a plus
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance in manufacturing.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cable manufacturing or a related wire & cable industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
