Position Summary
This role is responsible for coordination and support of purchasing activities amongst all user departments. It requires the individual to source for the required items in a timely and cost efficient manner. Should always ensure minimum stock level is maintained at all times to avoid any stock out of materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Procuring materials as requested by the user departments.
- Coordinating purchasing and stores activities to achieve the department’s objectives.
- Setting up and implementing purchasing systems and procedures.
- Evaluating and rating suppliers in terms of efficiency, price, delivery time and quality of products.
- Monitor trends in supplier and contract base and propose/implement plans to respond to such trends.
- Build and develop good relationships with key suppliers to ensure best value for money and customer satisfaction with services provided.
- Raising purchase orders, requesting for quotations and also making sure that orders are placed and all deliveries done promptly.
- Posting all inventory forms on a daily basis.
- To ensure all the correct cost price are posted in ERP and Pastel.
- To assist in stock reconciliation.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional certification in procurement such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply), KISM (Kenya Institute of Supplies Management), or an equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
- 5 years of experience with 2 years in a similar position in a Food Manufacturing Industry is a Must.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or Pastel) and strong computer literacy in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and google sheets.
