Rai Sugar Group seeks to recruit a qualified and dedicated candidate for the following position:
Job Summary
- Accountable for all financial reporting requirements of the unit, including development and continued deployment of necessary templates, production of performance metrics, control systems, and compliance. This specifically includes but is not limited to:
- Coordinating all business cycle templates in liaison with all other stakeholders in the planning process.
- Serving as an active, high-level business partner to the Unit Head in the overall operational and financial management of the business as well as aiding strategic decision-making.
- Maintaining records as per statutory and all internal reporting requirements that ensure that the unit’s strategic objectives are achieved.
- Influencing the Finance and Business teams in driving metrics and presentation of results.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all reporting requirements of the unit.
- Create, implement and monitor proper valuation policies and procedures.
- Ensure concise review of current and projected operating results.
- Support in designing proper cost management & other systems to provide operating economies and improve profitability.
- Support in maintaining adequate product costing systems and cost evaluation activities.
- Proactively review the assumptions underlying operating plans, identifying risks and opportunities in line with management’s expectations.
- Provide accurate capital investment requests.
- Support Operations initiatives at the unit.
- Provide analytical reports and models to support stakeholders in decision making.
- Support in timely generation of management accounts, maintaining compliance with IFRS and other statutory obligations.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Support the budgeting process – templates, timelines, meetings, and review sessions.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the BU/CFO.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA(K) and CIMA) with a university degree. A postgraduate qualification such as an MBA is an added advantage.
- At least five (5) years’ relevant experience with three (3) years of well-rounded experience in busy reporting role preferably in a manufacturing setup.
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS).
- High level of due diligence to ensure that financial information are complete and accurate.
- Able to work autonomously, strong self-driven & maturity to remain accountable for results.
- Excellent people-person skills.
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office packages, especially MS Excel.
- Working knowledge of ERP and other integrated systems.
