About the Role
Royal Mabati Factory Limited is seeking a highly organized and strategic Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, streamline processes, enhance productivity, and ensure seamless coordination across multiple departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for operational planning, quality control, team leadership, and ensuring the company meets its performance and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across production, dispatch, logistics, sales support, and administrative functions.
- Coordinate operational planning, monitor KPIs, and ensure projects and tasks are delivered within set timelines.
- Lead implementation of weekly and monthly operational reviews (WOR & MOR), ensuring action tracking and accountability.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and operational policies for consistency and compliance.
- Supervise production planning, preventive maintenance schedules, and factory efficiency (OEE, Lean, Kaizen, DMAIC).
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, safety, and quality standards including ISO, KEBS, OSHA, and NEMA.
- Oversee customer service operations, including timely order processing, delivery follow-ups, and issue resolution.
- Lead depot and dispatch management, ensuring accurate routing, OTIF delivery, and fuel usage monitoring.
- Drive sales execution support through forecasting, revenue monitoring, and tracking marketing activities.
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for senior leadership and board review.
- Oversee budgeting, cost optimization, and cost-center performance monitoring with acceptable variance levels.
- Manage HR-related operational functions including staff performance, monthly evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary processes.
- Ensure proper utilization of ERP, CRM, and digital dashboards; oversee data analytics, automation, and user access controls.
- Lead risk management, loss control, fraud prevention, and incident investigation processes across all departments.
- Support crisis management planning, execution of emergency procedures, and compliance with business continuity requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s an added advantage).
- 10+ years of proven leadership experience in operations within manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environments.
- Strong experience in manufacturing operations excellence, including process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in sales and marketing management, with the ability to support revenue growth and customer satisfaction initiatives.
- Experience in supply chain management, including production planning, dispatch, delivery coordination, and vendor management.
- Proven ability to lead ICT and digital transformation projects, including ERP/CRM implementation and systems optimization.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, operational planning, quality standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency in ERP/CRM systems, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High integrity, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
