Nurse Manager at Ultracare Specialist Hospital

Key Responsibilities

• Providing overall leadership, supervision, and coordination of nursing staff.
• Ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centered nursing care aligned with hospital policies and clinical standards.
• Planning, organizing, and managing day-to-day nursing operations to ensure efficient workflow and optimal resource utilization. Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and continuous
• professional development of nursing staff.
• Monitoring patient safety indicators and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen communication and care coordination. •Ensuring proper and timely nursing documentation, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Enforcing adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols.
• Participating in budgeting, procurement, and inventory management of nursing supplies and equipment. Handling patient and family concerns professionally, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Leading audits, accreditation processes, and compliance activities within the nursing department.
• Fostering staff mentorship, teamwork, and a positive work environment.
• Promoting continuous training, CME participation, and competence development for nursing staff.
• Supporting hospital leadership in policy development, strategic planning, and change management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSCN) from a recognized institution.
• Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
• Minimum of 5 years clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to manage teams, handle operational challenges, and drive quality improvement.
• Advanced training in management, leadership, or quality assurance is an added advantage.
