The Laboratory Technologist at Nanyuki Hospital plays a crucial role in delivering accurate, reliable, and timely diagnostic laboratory services. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, ethical, and highly skilled in laboratory analysis, equipment management, and quality assurance to support excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests across hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, parasitology, and other diagnostic areas.
- Collect, receive, prepare, and analyze patient specimens in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance and accurate results.
- Verify, document, and report laboratory findings promptly and accurately.
- Implement and adhere to laboratory quality control, quality assurance, and infection prevention protocols.
- Ensure laboratory spaces, equipment, and reagents are clean, safe, and well organized.
- Collaborate with clinicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Provide professional, respectful, and compassionate service to patients during specimen collection and testing processes.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration and practicing license with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
- At least 2 years’ practical experience in a busy clinical laboratory.
- Strong technical skills and solid understanding of diagnostic laboratory protocols and procedures.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.
- High levels of accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.
