The University seeks a dynamic and experienced Instructional Designer who will work in liaison with subject matter experts to structure, design, and review instructional content of online courses using appropriate technologies and upload them to the Learning Management System (LMS).

Create compelling learning activities and course content, working with subject matter experts to identify training needs, applying instructional design theories and methods, and utilizing multimedia tools to enhance the learning process

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in education with specialization in instructional design, educational technology or equivalent.
  • A bachelor’s degree in education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Communication, or a closely related field.
  • Over 2 years of proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System
  • Experience with at least one content authoring tool
  • Visual design skills and ability to storyboard
  • Ability to write, effectively copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders independently.

These include but not limited to:

  • Conducting needs analysis to identify learning gaps and define clear, measurable learning objectives.
  • Selecting and applying appropriate instructional strategies (e.g., inquiry-based learning, scenario-based training, microlearning) to meet learning outcomes
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
  • Recommending and implementing innovative learning technologies, including gamification, simulations, and virtual tools
  • Working with subject matter experts and identifying target audience’s training needs
  • Stating the instructional end goals and creating content that matches them
  • Visualizing instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
  • Conducting instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
  • Applying tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
  • Providing exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Working with media assistant to create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games etc.)
  • Deciding on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and developing assessment instruments
  • Maintaining project documentation and course folders
