Our client is in the hospitality industry, expanding into Kenya. They are seeking a Human Resources Officer (HRO) to join their team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture.

Recruitment

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and conducting interviews.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and develop job descriptions.

Payroll Management

  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal regulations.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.

Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR practices to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Policy Development

  • Assist in the formulation, implementation, and review of HR policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in labor legislation.

Performance Management

  • Support the development and implementation of performance appraisal systems.
  • Work with managers to facilitate performance improvement plans and employee development initiatives.

Employee Relations

  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns and facilitating conflict resolution.

HR Projects

  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve HR processes and employee engagement.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies that enhance organizational performance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 yrs of experience in similar role, preferably experience in the hospitality industry
  • Must be willing to relocate to Nyali or its environs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • People Management
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proactive and adaptable to change.
