Main Responsibilities Of The Jobs
Managerial / Supervisory/ Operational Responsibilities or roles:
- Define and lead the execution of a broking strategy aligned to company vision, revenue targets, and client retention goals.
- Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging customer needs to identify long- term opportunities for sustainable growth.
- Develop and implement business development initiatives, including partnerships, diversification, and product-market fit strategies.
- Set sales and revenue targets using robust forecasting models and market intelligence.
- Drive performance against targets through structured pipeline management, strategic client acquisition, and cross-selling.
- Monitor portfolio performance, including growth, renewal, retention, and client profitability metrics.
- Set the strategic direction for client engagement across retail, corporate, SME, and affinity segments.
- Build and maintain relationships with high-value clients, C-suite stakeholders, and institutional partners.
- Leverage data and insights to drive client-centric product positioning, retention strategies, and value-added services.
- Ensure the broking team operates within the scope of industry laws, internal codes of conduct, and ethical sales practices.
- Oversee documentation, disclosures, and communication standards to reduce legal, regulatory, and reputational risk.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams on periodic reviews, training, and control improvements.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing broking team with a strong culture of accountability, service, and ethical conduct.
- Implement clear performance management frameworks, talent development pathways, and succession planning.
- Champion diversity, inclusion, innovation, and collaboration across the sales organization.
- Drive efficiency in broking operations by optimizing workflow, leveraging automation, and improving turnaround times.
- Ensure broking systems and CRM platforms are used effectively for tracking, reporting, and customer engagement.
- Support seamless collaboration with underwriting, claims, finance, and marketing to deliver integrated client solutions.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience
Minimum level of academic qualification, skills and knowledge required to perform effectively in the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Economics, Marketing, or related field.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Minimum level of professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role:
- Professional insurance qualifications such as ACII, AIIK, or FLMI are required.
Minimum level of personal and professional experience required to perform effectively in the role:
- Strong understanding of insurance products (life, general, medical, SME, group).
- Expertise in CRM tools, pipeline management systems, and client lifecycle analytics.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing broking and intermediary services.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of emotional intelligence and professionalism skills.
- Passionate about customer experience, and innovation.
- Strategic thinker.
Minimum months or years of experience required to have to be appointed to the position:
- 10+ years’ experience in a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in broking, or sales strategy.
