Based at the Nairobi Head Office, the Finance and Administration Manager (FAM) will be responsible for ensuring the financial sustainability of the organization by maintaining a robust financial system that aligns with both internal policies and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The FAM will be responsible for promoting operational efficiency across the Organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial systems, reporting, audits, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage administrative operations, ensuring smooth running of all facilities.
- Lead budgeting processes, monitor implementation, and provide financial guidance to project teams.
- Ensure statutory compliance across countries of operation and secure applicable legal registrations and exemptions.
- Enforce procurement policies and ensure cost-effective purchasing practices.
- Manage investment of surplus funds in line with Board approved strategies.
- Ensure all projects are supported with properly equipped and well-maintained offices.
- Oversee donor financial reporting and maintain health and effective donor relations.
- Supervise departmental staff and address team concerns professionally.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field, with a specialization in Finance or Accounting; a Master’s degree in Finance or Management is an added advantage.
- Certified Public Accountant CPA (K) or ACCA qualification is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance and administration, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience in administrative management, including office operations, facilities oversight, procurement, and asset management.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, statutory compliance requirements, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with multidisciplinary teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities, with a proven capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in donor financial management, including understanding of donor requirements and preparation of donor reports is an added advantage.
