About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and market-savvy Ecommerce Manager to lead our online marketplace operations in Kenya. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise working with major e-commerce platforms in Kenya such as Jumia, Kilimall, Sky.Garden, Copia, Masoko, and others. This role requires strong on-ground presence, deep understanding of the market, and category management skills, combined with advanced operational capabilities in payments, logistics, and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow our presence across key Kenyan marketplaces (Jumia, Kilimall, Sky.Garden, Copia, Masoko, and others).
- Develop and execute strategies to maximize sales, visibility, and customer engagement.
- Oversee marketplace listings, campaigns, promotions, and seasonal planning.
- Integrate and manage payment solutions to ensure smooth checkout and customer experience.
- Negotiate, manage, and maintain 3PL (third-party logistics) contracts and partnerships.
- Identify, address, and overcome logistics challenges to ensure timely deliveries and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and optimize marketplace performance through data analysis and competitor insights.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with marketplace account managers and logistics partners.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years’ experience managing e-commerce marketplace operations in Kenya.
- In-depth knowledge of local e-commerce platforms, market dynamics, and consumer trends.
- Strong experience in payment integration and 3PL contract management.
- Proven ability to resolve logistics challenges and maintain service quality.
- Hands-on experience with category management, pricing, and promotions.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work on-ground and coordinate across multiple teams.
