Position Summary
The Draughtsman will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for wastewater treatment and water treatment solutions. This role requires precision, creativity, and collaboration with engineers and project teams to ensure designs meet technical standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare 2D and 3D technical drawings for drainage systems, wastewater treatment plants, and water treatment solutions using CAD software.
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and requirements into accurate and detailed drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop layouts, P&I Diagram, piping layouts, and structural input details for treatment systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and company guidelines in all designs.
- Maintain and update drawing archives and documentation for ongoing and completed projects.
- Assist in preparing Bill of Materials (BOM) and support procurement with accurate design data.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to optimize solutions for cost-effectiveness and functionality.
- Support site teams with design clarifications and modifications during installation and commissioning phases.
- Coordination with inter-office team, MEP engineer & Structural engineers to prepare & obtain approval on the shop drawings.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Draughtsman in water treatment, wastewater systems, or similar industries.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, REVIT or other relevant CAD software.
- Strong understanding of layouts, P&I Diagram, piping systems, fluid mechanics, BOM and structural detailing.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and local building codes related to water treatment systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in designing drainage systems, wastewater treatment plants and water treatment solutions.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and BIM tools.
