About the Role
As the Director of Outreach & Engagement (O&E), you will lead MYCP’s global outreach strategy, directing the strategy to build the capacity of MYCP’s network, and ensure their engagement in MYCP activities. You will report to the MYCP Coordinator & International Council. This is a volunteer position, with expectation of 8-12 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee MYCP’s outreach and youth engagement strategy, including capacity building, mobilisation, and campaign interaction
- Leading the design, planning and implementation of youth consultations, capacity building events and outreach initiatives across every region of the world, creating opportunities for youth participation and connection-building in MYCP initiatives and decision-making processes
- Build relationships with youth networks, NGOs, and global partners to strengthen collaboration, and co-design programming targeted for youth on the move
- Coordinating Focal Points, Leads and Officers within the Outreach & Engagement Unit, collaborating closely with the Research & Innovation and Advocacy & Campaigns Units
Person Specification
- Aged between 18 and 30 years old
- Strong background in grassroots youth engagement and capacity building
- Proven ability to engage and inspire young people in campaigns or initiatives
- Experience leading and coordinating innovative projects and activities across multiple regions
- Excellent writing, analysis and communication skills and command of English (fluency in one or more other UN languages is desirable)
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to youth empowerment and MYCP’s values
- Organised, reliable, and proactive problem-solver
