We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Cost and Management Accountant to join our finance team and support our production and management functions through effective budgeting, costing, and performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage operating budgets, monitor expenditure, implement effective budgetary controls and provide explanations on major cost variances
- Analyze production costs, production variances and operational efficiency to support decision making
- Monitor raw materials, packaging and finished goods inventory valuation and investigating discrepancies through the Audit team
- Maintain accurate costing of all manufactured items
- Analyze cost structures and prepare reports on cost variances between actual and standard costs
- Evaluation and report on waste and yield
- Participate in inventory management processes including physical count, reconciliation and valuation
- Partner with supervisory teams to ensure cost effective production and accurate cost allocation
- Manage the company’s working capital (inventory levels) , and efficient use of resources
- Oversee cost management and implement measures to control & reduce costs
- Provide the management with timely financial insights and strategic advice
- Recommend improvements in cost control processes and financial systems
- Utilize ERP Systems and Excel to track ,analyze and report financial data effectively
- Prepare monthly and quarterly cost reports and contribute to management financial statements
- Prepare and maintain standard cost sheets for all SKUs and production lines.
- Monitor and analyze variances between standard and actual costs (materials, labor, and overhead).
- Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts in collaboration with various departments.
- Prepare and present monthly Management Accounts, including variance analysis and performance commentary.
- Conduct profitability analysis by product, line, and customer to support pricing and strategic decisions.
- Monitor inventory valuation and perform periodic stock reconciliations.
- Support cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiency improvement in production and operations.
- Ensure accurate allocation of factory overheads to respective cost centers.
- Support internal and external audits by providing relevant costing and budget information.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- Professional qualification such as CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent is mandatory.
- Minimum 4 years’ of progressive experience in cost and management accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, variance analysis, cost control, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel (Advanced level).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
