PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Kenyan accounting regulations.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate
financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing management reports for decision-making, including expense analysis, revenue summaries, and cost variance reports.
- Reconcile all bank accounts and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
- Monitor company expenditures, ensuring they align with approved budgets and financial controls.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage supplier accounts, ensuring timely payment processing and reconciliation of supplier statements.
- Oversee invoicing, credit control, and debt collection to maintain optimal cash flow.
- Ensure accurate posting of all transactions into the accounting system.
- Track and verify petty cash usage, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
Inventory & Cost Accounting
- Maintain accurate records of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Conduct periodic inventory reconciliations in collaboration with the warehouse and production teams.
- Support product costing analysis and contribute to pricing strategies based on cost structures.
- Identify and investigate variances between physical stock and system records.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure full compliance with tax and statutory obligations, including VAT, PAYE, NSHIF, NSSF, and corporate tax.
- Support both internal and external audits by providing necessary schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Implement and maintain sound internal control systems to safeguard company assets and data integrity.
Payroll & Staff Expense Management
- Prepare monthly payroll and ensure accurate computation of deductions and benefits.
- Maintain up-to-date employee records in coordination with the HR department.
- Manage employee reimbursements and advances in line with company policies.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Work closely with the procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure financial accuracy across all operational functions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in financial planning, forecasting, and budget formulation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA (K) qualification or equivalent professional certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with zoho is a plus) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Strong ethical standards and a high level of integrity.
