Company Description
APG East Africa is seeking a proactive and results-driven Cargo Executive to drive growth and operational excellence across multiple airline cargo portfolios represented under APG. The ideal candidate will combine commercial acumen with hands-on operational insight to strengthen relationships with cargo agents, freight forwarders, and partner airlines throughout the region.
Role Description
- Develop and implement cargo sales strategies to achieve regional revenue and volume targets.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with freight forwarders, consolidators, and logistics partners.
- Identify potential airline partners and coordinate the sourcing, negotiation, and signing of Cargo SPAs and other commercial contracts under APG’s cargo portfolio.
- Support represented airlines by providing sales performance reports, market intelligence, and business recommendations.
- Coordinate with internal teams and airline partners to resolve operational issues promptly.
- Conduct regular market visits and presentations to drive brand visibility and engagement.
- Prepare and submit monthly cargo performance and market trend reports to the CEO & MD.
- Support marketing initiatives including participation in trade events, product launches, and regional roadshows.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in cargo sales, freight forwarding, or airline cargo operations.
- Strong knowledge of regional cargo markets and distribution channels.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with airline cargo systems (e.g., CASS, CargoSpot, etc.) is an added advantage.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working under minimal supervision.
