Job Purpose
We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, and results-driven Business Development Lead to spearhead the market introduction and adoption of our new ticketing system among other products. The ideal candidate will play a key role in positioning the platform as a preferred choice for event organizers, venues, and promoters. This role blends strategic business development with relationship management to drive brand visibility, market penetration, and revenue growth within the events industry.
The successful candidate will lead efforts to introduce, promote, and establish our ticketing system in the Kenyan market and beyond, by building strategic partnerships within the events ecosystem including event organizers, promoters, entertainment venues, and corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the events, entertainment, and ticketing ecosystem.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with event organizers, promoters, and partners to drive system adoption.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to position the ticketing platform competitively in the market.
- Deliver persuasive presentations, demos, and proposals to potential clients and partners.
- Negotiate commercial terms and close deals to achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing, product, and technical teams to ensure a smooth client onboarding and post-sale experience.
- Gather and share client feedback to inform continuous product and service improvement.
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain detailed records of leads, activities, and client engagements using CRM and reporting tools.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; additional training in events management is an advantage.
- Proven experience in business development or sales within the events, fintech, entertainment, or ticketing industry.
- Strong network and understanding of the local events landscape.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to develop strategic partnerships and close high-value deals.
- Goal-oriented with strong business acumen and entrepreneurial drive.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results under pressure.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
