Role purpose
Living Goods seeks exceptional leaders to join its Board and help guide the organization into its next era of scale, influence, and innovation. Board Members will provide strategic direction, strong governance, and powerful advocacy, supporting the organization’s ambition to reach millions more families with affordable, digital-enabled community healthcare.

Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Shape and support the implementation of Living Goods’ strategic plans, including the 2027–2030 strategy.
- Bring clarity, insight, and strategic challenge to issues of digital transformation, scaling community health systems, and sustainability.
Governance & Board Culture
- Strengthen governance practices, effectiveness, and transparency.
- Foster an open, healthy Board culture marked by constructive challenge, collaboration, and balanced power dynamics.
Participate in Board effectiveness reviews and continuous improvement efforts.
Financial Oversight
- Review and approve budgets, expenditures, and financial statements.
- Ensure strong internal controls and long-term fiscal sustainability.
Programmatic Accountability
- Review organizational performance, outcomes, and impact data.
- Provide guidance on digital health, innovation, research, evaluation, and implementation quality.
Government & External Influence
- Strengthen high-level relationships with African governments, multilateral institutions, regional bodies, and key global health partners.
- Open doors, support advocacy, and expand Living Goods’ influence.
Resource Mobilization
- Support engagement with philanthropic funders, DFIs, corporate partners, and government stakeholders.
- Serve as an ambassador for Living Goods’ mission and impact.
Mentorship
- Provide advice, coaching, and thought partnership to the CEO and senior leadership team.
