As a Business Development Manager, you will be a key driver of growth and strategic initiatives within the firm. Positioned in Nairobi’s fast-paced business environment, this role serves as a pivotal liaison between the firm and the marketplace. You will champion the firm’s value proposition, foster productive relationships with clients and referral partners, and develop new business opportunities.

  • Client Relationship: Develop and cement a robust pipeline of new clients while deepening existing relationships.
  • Opportunity & Insight: Identify, evaluate and capture business development opportunities aligned to identity and strategic priorities.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Lead the full business development cycle from opportunity identification to client acquisition.
  • Proposal Leadership: Prepare tailored proposals and coordinate internal resources for complex, multi-service engagements.
  • Networking & Referrals: Build and maintain a strong network of intermediaries and referral contacts to generate new business.
  • Performance Excellence: Meet business development targets, maintain accurate records, and support data-driven decision making.
  • Brand Representation: Uphold and promote the firm’s values and reputation in all client interactions.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of Kenya’s legal and business environment; prior experience in a law firm or professional services is an advantage.
  • Commercial Acumen: Minimum 5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management.
  • Networking Skills: Established network within corporate, financial, and business circles in Kenya.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Solution Selling: Skilled in consultative selling and delivering value-driven solutions.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools is a plus.
  • Self-Driven: Highly motivated, independent, and results-oriented; open to local travel.
