Wessra Professionals is a dynamic marketing agency in Kenya specializing in events management and Below The Line (BTL) marketing. They work with a diverse portfolio of clients to deliver impactful campaigns, activations, and brand experiences that drive consumer engagement and measurable results.
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for driving business growth by acquiring new clients, pitching creative BTL solutions, and managing client relationships. The role requires strong sales and negotiation skills, industry knowledge of activations and experiential marketing, and the ability to work with internal teams to deliver successful campaigns. The ideal candidate is energetic, target-driven, and passionate about connecting brands with consumers through unique BTL experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Identify potential clients and industries that need BTL marketing services.
- Research and analyze trends, competitors, and gaps in the market.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, cold calls, and online research.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Building
- Initiate contact with potential clients, pitch BTL services, and present proposals.
- Understand client needs and develop custom activation strategies.
- Maintain long-term relationships for repeat business and upselling.
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Develop sales forecasts and plans based on market insights.
- Collaborate with management to improve pricing strategies and offerings.
Project Handoff & Coordination
- Work closely with internal teams (creative, production, logistics) to ensure smooth project execution after sales closure.
- Monitor project delivery timelines and client satisfaction.
Brand Representation & Market Positioning
- Represent the agency at networking events, trade shows, and client meetings.
- Position the company as a leader in innovative and effective BTL campaigns.
Reporting & CRM Management
- Maintain detailed records of leads, conversations, deals, and follow-ups in the CRM.
- Provide regular sales activity and performance reports to senior management.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, Communications, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within a BTL marketing agency, event company, or advertising firm.
- Proven track record in winning new BTL projects (e.g., activations, roadshows, in-store promotions, product sampling, experiential campaigns
Skills & Competencies
- Deep understanding of BTL strategies, including:
- Brand activations
- Experiential marketing
- Trade marketing
- Field promotions
- Event management
- Merchandising and POS promotions
- Strong sales and negotiation skills to close deals.
- Excellent presentation and proposal writing abilities.
- Knowledge of budgets, cost estimates, and campaign ROI metrics.
- CRM software proficiency (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Soft Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Networking ability to build and maintain client relationships.
