Job Role
Responsible for implementing sound financial policies and internal control systems in line with general accepted accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizing audit teams for various audit assignments including audit planning, executing, directing, and completing audit assignments.
- Supervises junior audit staff assigned to engagements providing guidance and overall review of deliverables.
- Proactively interact with middle level management/supervisors to gather information, resolve problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvement.
- Identifies and communicates issues raised, offering recommended solutions relevant to business and risk mitigation measures.
- Preparing specific audit assignment plans and audit programmes.
- Reviewing audit files and reports prepared by auditors working under him/her.
- Assisting in the preparation of periodic audit work plans.
Qualifications
- University degree in commerce, accounting, finance, business administration or a related field
- CPA (K), or acceptable equivalents
- Additional professional qualifications, i.e., CISA, CIA, ACCA will be added advantage
- At least 5 years’ experience in the audit Internal Audit Function at supervisory level, 3 of which from an audit firm
- Must have demonstrated ability to develop audit programs for the junior audit team he or she supervises
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership skills
- Team player
