The United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the world’s environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the environment.

Adaptation Expert

Deliverables

  • Short inception phase report comprising a review of 2024 PIR, MTR report, training reports and containing understanding of the assignment and proposed workplan including mission scheduling ;
  • Report on key findings/policy messages from Output 2,4 together with data sets that can be used for the CBA;
  • CBA terms of reference;
  • 3 co-financing reports;
  • 3 country exit strategies;
  • 3 policy briefs;
  • 3 virtual learning webinars organised and a report containing participants lists, participant feedback and options for further learning opportunities; 8. Multi-country final report;
  • GEF Project Implementation Progress Report. The consultant will report to the Chief of Climate Change Adaptation Unit.

Qualifications/special skills

  • An advanced degree in environment, climate change, economic or social sciences is required 7 years of professional experience in international development is required
  • Track record in climate change adaptation is desirable
  • Track record of working on national or sub-national policy and planning processes is desirable
  • Track record of working on development issues at the city level is desirable Work experience in developing policy briefs is desirable
  • Experience of working the SE Asia region is desirable
