Social sellers represent the future of commerce in Kenya — young, digital-native entrepreneurs building businesses through social media platforms. This segment is critical to the vision of becoming a payments lifestyle brand, as these merchants embody the endless possibilities enabled by digital finance. They are also a key growth driver, with successful sellers becoming brand advocates who fuel organic customer acquisition through their networks.Core Ownership & Responsibilities

Own social seller merchant acquisition across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and WhatsApp Business.

Build the company’s presence within social commerce communities and influencer networks.

Drive adoption of social-first payment features (payment links, QR codes, social checkout).

Create scalable onboarding processes for high-volume, lower-touch merchant segments.

  • Identify and recruit high-potential social sellers (monthly revenue: KES 50K – KES 2M).
  • Develop targeted social media outreach strategies and content for merchant acquisition.
  • Partner with Brand Studio to develop success stories and case studies.
  • Build relationships with influencer networks, social media agencies, and creator communities.
  • Design and execute educational programs, webinars, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to enhance social commerce features.
  • Track social media trends and monitor competitive activity.

  • Social Media Intuition: Understands how communities form, how trends spread, and how to build genuine engagement.
  • Community Building: Brings people together to create supportive, active social commerce communities.
  • Trend Spotting: Sees opportunities before they become mainstream — from new creators to emerging platforms.
  • Authentic Communication: Speaks the language of social commerce naturally and intuitively.
  • Growth Hacking Mindset: Builds viral loops and referral-driven growth.
  • Scalable Onboarding: Designs tech-enabled onboarding that activates large numbers of new sellers efficiently.

Background & Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in social media marketing, community management, or startup sales in Finance/Fintech organizations.
  • Deep understanding of the Kenyan social media landscape and creator economy.
  • Experience working with influencers, content creators, or social sellers.
  • Background in community building or grassroots marketing is an advantage.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Creator Economy Fluency: Deep understanding of monetization tools on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp Business.
  • Social Media Native: Naturally understands platforms, trends, and creator mindset.
  • Community Building: Proven ability to build and nurture active communities.
  • Content Creation: Comfortable developing and curating content across multiple platforms.
  • Digital Communication: Skilled in WhatsApp Business, Instagram DMs, and social selling.
  • Trend Awareness: Always up to date with evolving social media trends and platform updates.
