As the Director of Advocacy & Campaigns (A&C), you will lead MYCP’s global advocacy and campaigns, ensuring that young migrants’ voices are at the centre of policymaking, programming and public discourse. This is a strategic leadership role requiring a blend of policy experience, campaign management, advocacy and youth mobilisation skills. You will report to the MYCP Coordinator & International Council. This is a volunteer position, with expectation of 8-12 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee MYCP’s global advocacy and campaigns strategy aligned with organizational priorities, and identifying key policy windows, forums, and opportunities for youth advocacy on migration and youth affairs.
- Leading the design, planning and implementation of global and regional advocacy campaigns and outputs, ensuring the meaningful engagement of young people in design and delivery
- Represent MYCP at high-level policy forums, consultations, and global advocacy events, coordinating youth inputs into policy processes and building relationships with key stakeholders
- Coordinating Focal Points, Leads and Officers within the Advocacy & Campaigns Unit, collaborating closely with the Research & Innovation and Outreach & Engagement Units
Person Specification
- Aged between 18 and 30 years old
- Excellent experience in advocacy, campaign design, and influencing strategies
- An in-depth understanding of youth and migration issues, preferably from lived-experience
- Experience leading and coordinating a diverse, volunteer-driven team
- Excellent writing, analysis and communication skills and command of English (fluency in one or more other UN languages is desirable)
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to youth empowerment and MYCP’s values
- Organised, reliable, and proactive problem-solver
