Job Summary:
The Pastry/bakery Chef de Partie is responsible for overseeing the pastry section of the kitchen and ensuring that all desserts, pastries, and baked goods are prepared to the highest standards. This role requires a strong understanding of pastry & bakery techniques and the ability to manage a team effectively. The Chef de Partie will work closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to create innovative desserts/bakery and maintain the quality and presentation of all pastry/bakery items.
Key Responsibilities:
Pastry/bakery Preparation:
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and breads according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Menu Development:
- Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef in developing seasonal dessert,pastries, breads menus and special items for events or promotions.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all pastry and bakery products meet quality and taste standards, conducting regular taste tests and quality checks.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and train junior pastry/bakery staff, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and uphold kitchen standards.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in managing inventory for the pastry section, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
Hygiene and Safety:
Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to within the pastry section.
Creativity:
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and flavors into pastry and bakery offerings.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pastry chef de partie or bakery chef de partie in a similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience in pastry arts is preferred.
- Atleast 5years of working experience.
- Strong knowledge of pastry/bakery techniques and methods.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Creative mindset with an passion for baking and pastry arts.
- Strong attention to detail in both presentation and taste.
- Must have knowledge of laminating croissants and making artisan breads.
