Overview
Doping Control Officers (DCOs) play a critical role in maintaining integrity in sports by overseeing the collection of urine and/or blood samples from athletes during both in-competition and out-of-competition testing. These officers ensure that all testing procedures adhere to WADA and ADAK regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Doping Control Officer will be responsible for:
- Conducting sample collection missions according to ADAK and WADA standards and guidelines.
- Ensuring the athlete’s rights are protected during the testing process.
- Managing chain of custody for all collected samples to guarantee their integrity and validity.
- Completing and submitting accurate Doping Control Forms and other related documentation.
- Coordinating with Chaperones and Blood Collection Officers during testing missions.
- Ensuring testing kits, materials, and equipment are properly handled and stored.
- Educating athletes and support staff about testing protocols and compliance.
- Reporting any irregularities, refusals, or violations during sample collection.
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Participating in refresher courses, re-certification, and ongoing professional development in doping control procedures.

- Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) – Tax Compliance Certificate
- Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) – Loan Repayment Compliance Certificate
- Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) – Certificate of Good Conduct
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) – Integrity Clearance Certificate
- Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) – Credit Status Report
