We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Superintendent / Matron for one of the reputed hospital groups based in Kenya. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing nursing operations, ensuring quality patient care, and maintaining high standards of clinical excellence and hospital administration.

Position: Nursing Superintendent / Matron

Location: Kenya

Experience: 10–15 Years (including at least 3–5 years in a supervisory / leadership role)

Qualification: B.Sc / M.Sc in Nursing (with valid registration)

Compensation: As per experience and industry standards

Nursing Administration & Leadership

  • Supervise and manage all nursing staff and activities across departments.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and quality standards.
  • Plan and coordinate nursing services to deliver efficient and patient-centered care.
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess nursing practices and address any operational issues.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
  • Implement and monitor standards.
  • Conduct audits, evaluate nursing performance, and initiate corrective actions.

Staffing & Training

  • Manage manpower planning, duty rosters, and performance evaluations.
  • Organize continuous nursing education, training, and skill enhancement programs.
  • Mentor, guide, and motivate nursing teams for professional growth and efficiency.

Coordination & Communication

  • Collaborate with medical and administrative teams to ensure smooth hospital operations.
  • Act as a liaison between nursing staff, management, and other departments.
  • Handle patient and family concerns with empathy and professionalism.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of staff performance, training, and nursing indicators.
  • Prepare and present reports to hospital management regarding nursing operations and performance metrics.
