Baraka Health Net is searching for a Chief Administration Officer to provide executive-level leadership for Baraka HealthNet’s financial, operations, and administrative functions. Key responsibilities include overseeing support departmentoperations (HR, Finance, Admin, and IT), managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance including procurement, implementing policies and procedures, and collaborating with the senior Managers. The role requires strong leadership, management, financial planning, and communication skills.

Location: Nairobi, KE Terms: Full Time

Salary Budget: 200K + Benefits.

Duration: 1 Year Renewable Contract

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Organizational Leadership

  • Collaborating with the CEO to develop and implement strategic plans that align with Baraka Healthnet goals.
  • Managing and supervising the day-to-day operations of various support departments ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implementing organizational policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with government regulations, industry laws and donor regulations.
  • Supervisory role to all finance, HR, IT & Administrative functions of the organization.
  • Compiling and presenting performance reports, budget reviews, and other updates to the management team and donors.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and business partners.
  • Ensuring that assets are always in safe custody and in good working condition by organizing timely repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation system/filing is in place.
  • Ensure necessary administrative processes for voluntary doctors are in place including registration with Medical Board Kenya.

Financial Management and Control

  • Overseeing budget planning, monitoring expenditures, procurement procedures and managing financial resources to support the organization’s objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP, tax regulations, and other legal requirements; identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for operations, including bank reconciliations.
  • Coordinating and supporting internal and external audits, ensuring timely implementation of recommendations.
  • Oversee daily operations such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger management.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement improvements using technology and best practices.
  • Budgeting, compliance, and financial reporting to donors.
  • Strengthening risk management, fraud prevention, and internal control systems.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management and board.

Human Resource Management and Organizational Culture

  • Leading HR strategies focused on talent acquisition, training, and retention to improve overall organizational performance.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization including disciplinary matters.
  • Nurture a positive working environment.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.

Compliance, Governance and Stakeholder Relations

  • Ensuring compliance with government regulations, industry laws and donor regulations (
  • Compiling reports and updates for donors and stakeholders
  • Maintaining strong internal controls, fraud prevention, and risk management measures.
  • Coordinating with external stakeholders and ensuring transparent communication with partners, donors, and regulators.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Finance /Accounting/ Human Resource or other business related studies.
  • CPA (K) or CPS (K) with active membership in ICPAK or IHRM
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant sector work experience
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Adherence to Integrity and confidentiality
  • Able to travel up to project locations, meetings and events.
