Junior Designer
About the role
- We are looking for someone with strong design fundamentals, a portfolio that demonstrates genuine creative potential, and the right attitude to thrive in a collaborative, feedback-driven workplace. You do not need to have all the answers yet—but you should be curious, diligent, and motivated to develop.
- In this role, you will be supported by experienced creatives who are invested in your growth. You will learn by doing: working on live briefs, contributing to campaigns, and developing the commercial and conceptual awareness that will set you apart as a designer over time. This is a genuine development opportunity within a team that takes creative quality seriously.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design Delivery & Production
- Design high-quality visual assets across a broad range of formats, including digital, print, internal communications, social content, presentations, and brand collateral
- Adapt and resize creative assets across channels and formats, maintaining brand consistency and visual accuracy throughout
- Support the production and rollout of campaigns, brand materials, and content — from initial file setup through to final delivery
- Source and select imagery, iconography, and visual references that align with the creative direction and brand tone
Creative Thinking & Brief Response
- Translate briefs into considered, on-brand design solutions—initially with guidance from senior team members, and with increasing independence over time
- Apply strong fundamentals in typography, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy to all work, regardless of format or complexity
- Contribute ideas and visual thinking to creative sessions and campaign development, showing curiosity and emerging conceptual instincts
- Develop a growing understanding of how design serves communication goals—not just aesthetics—within a business context
Craft, Quality & Brand Consistency
- Uphold brand guidelines consistently across all outputs, understanding how and why a coherent visual identity matters at scale
- Approach every piece of work with attention to detail, taking pride in the quality of execution at every stage of the process
- Incorporate feedback clearly and efficiently, iterating quickly without losing sight of the original brief or creative intent
Collaboration & Creative Relationships
- Work constructively alongside copywriters, marketers, and other creative team members, contributing positively to a collaborative working environment
- Engage with briefs professionally, asking relevant questions and seeking clarity where needed before beginning design work
- Support presentation design and content preparation, helping to communicate creative work clearly to internal audiences
- Assist in creative productions, image sourcing, and supplier coordination where required, under the direction of a senior creative
Skills and Experience
- Approximately 1-3 years of professional design experience, whether in-house, digital agency, freelance, or via an internship-to-full-time progression
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong design fundamentals — typography, layout, hierarchy, colour — alongside emerging conceptual and brand thinking
- A genuine understanding that design exists to solve communication and business problems, not only to look good
- Receptiveness to feedback and a genuine desire to learn, develop, and be mentored by senior creatives
- High attention to detail and pride in the quality and consistency of your work
- A collaborative, proactive, and adaptable working style, suited to a structured professional environment
- Adobe Creative Suite — Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (solid working knowledge required)
- Figma — for digital asset creation and collaborative design workflows
- Presentation design — Microsoft PowerPoint to a proficient standard
- Typography, layout, grid systems, and digital asset creation across web and print formats
- Working knowledge of brand guidelines and how to apply them accurately and consistently
- Experience with AI-assisted design tools and an interest in how they are evolving creative workflows
- Social content creation across platforms, with an understanding of format specifications and visual communication for digital audiences
- Internship, placement, or early employment experience in an in-house or digital agency creative team
- Exposure to corporate, consulting, financial services, or enterprise brand environments, even in an assistant or support capacity
- Experience supporting campaign development or content rollout, with an understanding of how creative work moves from brief to delivery
- Some familiarity with stakeholder review and approval processes — even from observation or junior involvement
- An interest in the strategic side of design: brand positioning, audience thinking, and how visual identity connects to business purpose.
