Responsibilities
- Perform precise welding and fabrication using approved techniques to assemble and repair metal structures and components.
- Ensure all welds consistently meet high industry standards, company specifications, and required safety codes.
- Inspect finished work through visual checks and measurement analysis, and correct any weld defects to maintain structural soundness and quality control.
- Read, understand, and accurately interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and technical welding symbols.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding machines and related equipment, ensuring immediate reporting of any faulty equipment or workplace hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a meticulously clean and safe work environment at all times to proactively prevent accidents and injuries.
- Coordinate effectively with supervisors, fabricators, and other team members to ensure efficient and timely task completion.
- Accurately record job details, time spent on tasks, and materials utilize as per procedural requirements.
- Assist in the mentorship and training of new welders or apprentices, contributing to the development of the team.
Requirements
- Certificate or diploma in Welding, Fabrication, or related field.
- Proven welding experience (MIG/TIG/Stick) preferred.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and welding symbols.
- Knowledge of different metals and welding techniques.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, heights, and varying environmental conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Problem-solving ability and initiative.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and operate machinery.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in physically demanding conditions.
