Solar PV Technician
- The Solar PV Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing solar photovol- taic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This role requires technical expertise in solar energy systems, electrical installations, and troubleshooting, as well as a commit- ment to safety and quality workmanship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, mounting hardware, wiring, and balance of system components, according to project specifications and industry stand- ards.
- Conduct site assessments and surveys to determine optimal placement of solar pan- els, taking into account shading, orientation, and structural integrity.
- Perform electrical wiring and connections, ensuring compliance with local electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Test and commission solar PV systems, verifying proper functionality, performance, and interconnection with utility grids or off-grid systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with solar PV systems, including electrical faults, equipment malfunctions, and performance discrepancies.
- Repair or replace defective components, such as damaged panels, inverters, or wiring, to restore system functionality and efficiency.

- Accredited electrical, mechanical and biomedical engineering & technology company.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning panels, inspecting connections, and monitoring system performance, to maximize energy production and longevity.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure timely completion of solar PV installations and service calls.
- Maintain accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repair activities, including work orders, service reports, and equipment inventory.
- Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in solar PV installation pre- ferred.
- Proven experience of 2 -3 years as a solar PV technician or electrician in the renewable energy industry.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, components, and installation practices.
- Electrical wiring and troubleshooting skills, with understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
