The Senior Hospitality Officer, KEWI 6 reports to the Principal Hospitality Officer KEWI 5.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –

  • Providing quality catering, housekeeping, accommodation and conferencing services at the school;
  • Updating records and inventory of housekeeping and catering facilities and equipment;
  • Taking stock of housekeeping and catering commodities, materials and stuff;
  • Monitoring compliance to health, safety and environmental regulations in the provision of hospitality services;
  • Conducting customer satisfaction surveys;
  • Preparing duty roster for junior staff;
  • Preparing hospitality service work plans; and
  • Supervising staff.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –

  • Served for a cumulative period of six (6) years relevant work experience, three (3) in the grade of Hospitality Officer I or in a comparable position;
  • Bachelor’s degree in either Hotel and Catering Management or Hotel and Hospitality Management or its equivalent qualifications from a recognised institution;
  • Certificate of medical examination in line with the Food, Drugs and Chemical Substance Act;
  • Membership to a relevant professional body and in good standing where applicable;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

In addition to the above indicated requirements, applicants will be required to meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.

  • Certificate of Good Conduct;
  • Clearance from the Ethics and Anti – Corruption Commission;
  • Certificate of Compliance from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
  • Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance Clearance; and
  • Certificate of Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
