The Senior Information Technologist, KEWI 6 reports to the Principal Information Technologist KEWI 5.
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –
- Preparing laboratory practical schedules;
- Installing software at the laboratory;
- Maintaining of laboratory equipment;
- Maintaining laboratory records /reports;
- Conducting research and related consultancy in technical training;
- Preparation of laboratory manuals; and
- Preparing laboratory reports.

Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –
- Served for a cumulative period of nine (9) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Information Technologist I or in a comparable position;
- Diploma in any of the following disciplines: information communications technology, business information technology or computer science related fields from a recognised institution;
- Certification in networking in CISCO or any Microsoft certification;
- Membership to a relevant professional body and in good standing where applicable; and
- Shown Merit and ability reflected in work performance and results.

In addition to the above indicated requirements, applicants will be required to meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.
The following clearances will be required from successful candidates upon offer of job and not at the application stage.
- Certificate of Good Conduct;
- Clearance from the Ethics and Anti – Corruption Commission;
- Certificate of Compliance from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
- Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance Clearance; and
- Certificate of Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
