Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the Manager, Procurement is responsible for overseeing and managing all procurement activities within the indirect categories in the organisation. This role encompasses the development and execution of procurement strategies, supplier management, supply chain optimization, compliance, process excellence, and end-to-end procurement life cycle management.

Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy on indirects spend aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to the procurement team and collaborate with senior leadership to align procurement goals with broader business objectives.
  • Support the budgeting process and review of procurement plans

Procurement Operations

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, ensure that procurement policy and guidelines support the needs of the organization, and that best practice is delivered.
  • Support the procurement head in the delivery of procurement strategies relating to all spend areas.
  • Support the procurement team on complex negotiations to optimise overall commercial position.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process in a timely manner (including SRM) for key contracts in collaboration with key business areas within e-procurement tool.
  • Develop supplier and sub-category strategies as appropriate. Ensure these subcategories are embedded in the e-procurement tool
  • Develop Indirect categories especially those that cut across entire BU’s (shared services)
  • Ensure processes and procedures are fully documented and followed. Support in audit gaps closure
  • Develop sustainability strategy within the procurement function in collaboration with key critical vendors
  • Deliver competitive advantage through cost savings, lifecycle value generation, demand management.
  • Custodian of all procurement reporting and management of the e-procurement tool

Supplier Management and Performance

  • Conduct industry research to identify potential suppliers and support the vendor qualification process.
  • Lead commercial negotiations to evaluate multiple suppliers based on products, terms & conditions, and commercial terms.
  • Assess supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and service with a view of accurate supplier categorisation and improvement plans where necessary.
  • Identify and eliminate waste and/or variability in the supply chain.
