Role Summary

This role focuses on HR management for the Africa region, supporting business development across multiple African countries. The key areas of responsibility include recruitment, compensation support, HR services, employee relations, and basic administrative/office support where needed.

There is no fixed base city; the role requires frequent travel and short/mid-term stays in different African countries according to business needs, while working closely with the HR team at headquarters in China and other regional teams.

  • Lead or support recruitment for positions in the Africa region, including role alignment with business, job posting, CV screening, interviews and offer follow-up.
  • Provide compensation and benefits support for the region, including salary proposals, offer package coordination and alignment with local payroll/benefit providers where applicable.
  • Deliver HR services for local employees, such as onboarding and offboarding, contract and employee file management, attendance and basic HR administration.
  • Manage employee relations, including employee communication, basic conflict resolution, feedback channels and employee care, in coordination with local managers and HQ HR.
  • Work with local partners and HQ to ensure HR practices in African countries are compliant with local labour laws and regulations, while aligned with group HR policies.
  • Support office and administrative tasks in the region as needed, including basic office coordination, vendor and service provider liaison and other ad-hoc admin support.
  • Participate in the rollout of global and regional HR projects (such as performance management, talent development, organization and culture initiatives) in the Africa region.
  • Prepare and maintain HR data and reports for the Africa region (headcount, recruitment progress, turnover, etc.) to support management decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above; Human Resources, Business or Engineering-related majors are preferred.
  • Fluent in Chinese and English (spoken and written) is mandatory and required for daily and business communication.
  • French language skills are a strong plus and will be given priority, especially for French-speaking African countries.
  • Relevant HR work experience, preferably with exposure to overseas or multi-country/regional HR management.
  • Solid understanding of core HR areas such as recruitment, compensation & benefits, HR services and employee relations; strong interest in developing a career in the Africa region.
  • Willing and able to travel frequently and relocate short/mid-term within different African countries based on business needs.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and coordination skills; able to work effectively with local employees, international managers and the China HQ team.
  • Proactive, resilient and self-driven, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, sometimes complex overseas environment.
